Femininity is constructed through mass market empowerment narratives that focus on suffering and overcoming that suffering. To be a woman then, is to only be allowed to suffer and to be resilient through that suffering.

- I think we've seen this happen with the character of Scarlett Witch. A women who shows that something is wrong in the world, is still a women, and if she tries to do something about it other than suffer... Well, then she's just a witch....
