A key concept in [[Process Philosophy]] created by [[@Alfred North Whitehead]]. Prehension is the way in which an entity relates to and incorporates elements from their environment to form a dynamic and interconnected reality. As well as, how an entity absorbs, interprets, and responds to influences around them.

Reality is a woven series of events that synthesize past influences. This process of ever becoming and changing is similar [[@Murray Bookchin]]'s [[Dialectical Naturalism]] where **being is becoming**. Whitehead's version explains the nature of reality, whereas, Bookchin's view explains the unfolding of nature and society.
